Suggestion:
Can there be a bus (from Manila/Makati) that can bring runners from starting line and bring us back to Manila after the race? I am willing to pay extra on the registration fee.
Count me in Mr. Baldrunner.

This is one of 2009 Historic Event! Kudos to the Organizers! am joining this one…and yes, may i ask, will there be a ‘Sponsored BUs’ for those going back to Manila?
Count me in! I will definitely run this since I am training already for WS100. I hope we can get this certified so I can also use it for eligibility in international ultra races!
kudos to baldrunner!

looks good. a once-ran route, and a commemorative one at that! i’m one in wishing there’ll be “extra” accomodations for us coming from neighboring cities, provinces.
I’LL JOIN THE RACE AND I’M VERY EXCITED ON MY FIRST ULTRA…..WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!
Good pm, Baldrunner! We’ve met in UP ICTUS run with my wife. I’m very much interested to join. Im preparing for the Philippine Marathon scheduled on March to enable me to be qualified to run in the Bataan 102. Godbless & Merry Christmas!

I hope this gets approval from AIMS or other international body so we can use this as a qualifying event for international races.
would like to join this historic event, too.
102km in 13 hrs., this means we have to run
at less than 8min/km. ave.?
the task would be very daunting.
have to train very hard for this event.
I think PATAFA is the only local governing body that can approve it… since they are the only sanctioning committee for AIMS and IAAF in the country.
Lets get it done! Cant wait to do this ultra-run!
Can we get some details on the race? April is fast approaching.
To: All Interested runners
1. This race will definitely open for 100 runners/participants only.
2. Leaving your intention to participate in this race event through our Comment & Feedback by leaving your name, age, e-mail address and contacting number/s will entitle you a reserved slot among the 100 runners.
3. Registration Forms will be available on this site soon. However, registration will be accepted at the Project Donate A Shoe booth during the PSE Bull Run Race on 18 January 2009 on January 18, 2009. Henceforth, Project Donate A Shoe booth in every weekend road race will be the registration booth for this ultra run event.
4. Last day of registration will be on 15 March 2009. No late registrants will be accepted.
5. All registered participants are encourage to join a “test run” and at the same time will serve as an ultramarathon clinic on 22 february 2009 in order to have a group run from balanga, bataan to the finish line (san fernando, pampanga) covering a distance of 52 kilometers. Details will be posted at this site and at http://www.baldrunner.com.
6. Other details of this race event will be posted as soon as necessary.
7. For your training program reference(s), please visit http://www.baldultrarunner.wordpress.com.
8. We will try our best to have this event sanctioned by PATAFA (even if PATAFA have not created a dedicated committee for ultra running events in the country). We sent e-mails to the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU), an entity under the IAAF, for them to include this event in their race calendar for 2009 last month but we received no reply from them yet.
9. During the actual race event, we encourage each participant to have their support crew and pacer after Km Post #7. It could be the whole family in a car or van or friends on bicycles or motorcycles.
10. We will not remind you about “honesty” of running on the said ultra event. You will not be cheating the race organizers but you will be cheating yourself. I firmly believe that ultramarathon runners are matured and decent breed of serious runners.
11. You have decided to join and participate in this historic event and I want you to be proud to be a part of ultramarathon race event history in the country.
102 km in 18 hrs, ave of 10.5 min/km.
i have a chance now to finish this ultra,

I strongly suggest key checkpoints along the course to validate participants running the correct course and a measure against cheating with penalty for perpetual disqualification in future races, if any.
legion cap…heheh…di ba tayo magmukhang hapon…might as well include a biyonet (jk)

Hi BR…after reserving one for me earlier, an elite runner from Palawan who is my friend, wants also to join but he’s asking If it’s possible for him not to join the pre-race on Feb. 22, 2009 because he will join the 21 kms milo marathon there? His name is Ernie ledesma.
Thanks a lot.
galing galing ng freebies, don’t have to buy additional ‘costume’ for the run.
however, i haven’t ran a marathon yet.
and the Pasig Marathon had been cancelled, which i’m hoping to join to qualify for the ‘march’ on April.
is there a way that i can still join this historic event?
thanks Sir Jovie
I forgot pala i am 46 years old and have completed at least 22 42k full marathons, a couple of power races, half marathons and 10 milers and handful of 10k’s some 5ks and some odd distances.
My last 42k was the milo finals last year after filing voluntary time off from work. I was not officially registered because i was hoping i would be able to join the TNF 100 but my leave was not approved. I just did it as a long run. I am a call center agent by the way and works at night most of the time. Funny thing though is it was my fastest 42 ever at 3 56 (started 5:12 and finished 8:56) without having any sleep yet.
My contact number is (0909) 809-4868.
Keep in touch!

good day to the Bataan102 organizers. it’s 25 days to go, and i’m so excited. i have done my diagnostic 50k+ run recently. all gears are ready, including mindset. i now have this last concern: will there be Logistical Stations halfway along the route where participants (without support crew) can pick up pre-deposited special gear bag which contains spare shoes and equipments?
i understand that you mentioned in item #6 of the RACE DETAILS section that a support crew is encouraged. but this is one ‘luxury’ i never had in my marathons. i’m aware that there are foreigners and other locals from the provinces who signed up in the race. chances are they might also need such special gear bag pick-up arrangements where the organizer can transport it to the stations prior to the race. i hope there will be similar arrangements to help address this issue.
thanks in advance.
